Guides Account Setup Manual

This manual is designed to serve guides and facilitate their account setup process on Fi$hFin.

This manual covers all aspects of becoming a guide. If you only want guidance on how to become a guide, skip forward to the Guide Services – Registration or Guide Services – Dashboard.

Home Screen and Navigation Button

Once you have given your permissions, you will then be directed to the Home Screen.

The Home Screen has a blue button with the Fi$hFin logo in it. That is the navigation button. Tap on it to expand the navigation options.

Here you will find the Guide Services option, tap on it. You will be directed to register as a guide.

If you have already registered as a guide, then you will be directed to the Guide Dashboard.

Guide Services – Registration

Registering as a guide on Fi$hFin is pretty straightforward. But it is a bit lengthy. The registration process for guides takes around 10 to 20 minutes, so it’s best that you’re available for that time.

Here are the steps you’ll need to take to register as a guide:

Step1: Start the process

Once you have tapped on the Guide Services from the navigation button, you will be directed to this screen. Tap on the Register as a Fishing Guide button to get started.

Step 2: Enter Business Details

In this step, you will need to enter your business details. Here are the following details that you will need to add:

  • Company Name – In case you don’t have a company name, you can add a company name of your choosing
  • Phone Number – Enter a different phone number if you want to keep your work and personal phone numbers separate
  • Business Location – This is your business location. You can add pin point location by using the location icon in the input field
  • Verify Documents – You can upload your documents or take images. Adding documents will help you become a verified guide and increase your chances of getting clients. Here are some of the documents that you might want to upload:
    • Business License
    • Tax ID
    • Insurance Documents

You can add documents for verification later.

Once you’re done, tap on the Boat Details to move forward.

Step 3: Enter Boat Details

In this step, you will need to enter your boat details. Here are the following details that you will need to add:

  • Listing Type – This is the sort of guide trips that you will be offering. These include Charters, Scuba, etc.
  • Boat Type – This is the type of boat you have like a Skiff or a Catamaran
  • Boat Manufacturer
  • Boat Length
  • Build Year – The year your boat was built
  • Boat Cruising Speed

Once you complete this section, tap on the Trip Facilities section to move forward.

Step 4: Enter Trip Facilities

In this step, you will need to enter your trip facilities as well as policies. Tap on the ones that you would want for your trip:

Tap on the Trip Details button when you’re ready.

Step 5: Enter Trip Details

On this step, you will be creating a trip. Enter all of the details including:

  • Title – Choose a title that’s concise and intriguing
  • Trip Duration – The duration is in hours
  • Trip Availability – This is the time period for when this particular trip would be available
  • Days of Week – These days represent the days when the trip would be available
  • Departure Time
  • Trip Type
    • Private
      • For private trips, the user pays a single price
      • There are no minimum persons
    • Shared
      • For shared trips, the user pays per person
      • You will need to mention minimum persons for a shared trip so you can still turn a profit
    • Maximum Persons on Trip
    • Trip Price
      • For private trips, this is the complete price of the trip.
      • For shared trips, this is the price per person.
    • Trip Description
      • Here you can add any further details about the trip and what people wanting to go should know or be prepared for.

Once you complete this trip details, you can tap on the Fishing Details button.

Step 6: Enter Fishing Details

On this screen, you will need to select the type of fish that you would be hoping to catch as well as the fishing location. You can add custom fish types as well as fishing locations.

Once you’re done, tap on the Add Images button to move forward.

Step 7: Add Past Trip Images

Here you will be able to upload or take images that you would want clients to see when they book a trip. It’s best to choose images that not only highlight the location but also the overall experience of the trip.

Once you’re done tap on the Finish Guide button.

At this point, you’re guide registration process has been completed, but you still need to configure your account payout settings to get paid from Fi$hFin. We will be discussing that process next.

Account Payout Settings

Fi$hFin uses Stripe to facilitate guide payments. The account payout process consists of the following steps:

AP Step 1: Enter your Phone Number and Email

Tap on the Continue button to move forward.

AP Step 2: Enter OTP (One Time Password)

You will be sent a 6 digit OTP to your phone number. Enter that OTP to continue.

If you didn’t get an OTP, you can tap on the Resend Code button to get a new one.

AP Step 3: Select your business type

Choose the appropriate business type and tap on the Continue button when you’re done.

AP Step 4: Enter your details

Here you will be required to enter your legal name as well as your website. If you don’t have a website, you can add a link for either of the other alternatives mentioned.

AP Step 5: Enter Bank Account details or Debit Card details

Here you will be required to either enter your bank account details or debit card details. Either of the two would suffice.

Once you’re done, tap on the Save button to move forward.

AP Step 6: Review your details

In this final step, you will review your provided details and make sure that everything is correct.

Tap on the Done button to move forward.

Guide Registration Completed!

Congratulations! You have finally become a guide on Fi$hFin. To go to your guide dashboard, tap on the Go to Guide Dashboard button.

Guide Services – Dashboard

Dashboard

Your guide dashboard is designed to give you everything you need to succeed as a guide on Fi$hFin. For starters, you will find your weekly summary (which can be changed) including your Earnings, Booking Count and Pending Bookings.

You will be able to edit your guide profile by tapping on the Edit Profile button at the top right of the screen.

You can also add new trips by tapping on the Add New Trip button at the bottom of your guide dashboard.

Trips Listing

The Trips Listing tab shows all of the trips that you have currently active at the moment. You can tap on any trip to see a detailed trip summary as well as any booking dates that you might have.

Bookings

The Bookings tab will show all of the bookings that you will have. You can accept or reject pending bookings from the bookings tab. If you don’t have any bookings at the moment, you Bookings tab will be empty.

But if you do have bookings to process, your Bookings tab will look like something below. Bookings that are accepted are moved to the trip’s bookings. Both accepted and rejected trips disappear from the bookings tab.

Trip History

The Trip History tab will have information about your past trips. This includes Canceled and Completed trips alike.

Edit Profile

You will be able to update your guide profile by tapping on the Edit Profile button on the top right side of the screen. This is especially helpful if you want to update your business phone number or if you would like to submit your guide documents for verification.

Edit Trip

For any of the trips that you have created, you will be able to edit these trips. The edit process is identical to the Add New Trip process, so you should have no problems editing a trip.

If at any point you feel that you want to delete the trip, you can tap on the Delete Trip button at the top right when editing a trip. Remember the bookings you have will be lost when you delete a trip. Frequent deletions may also impact your rating as a guide.

Sell your location, start a tour guide business, sell fishing gear, are just some of the things that you can do with the Fi$hfin app.
